Automatic start Waze when connect to car bluetooth (and turn off when blutetooth is off)
Automatic on/ off waze when connect to paired bluetooh adapter.
This is best way to have waze on when is needed in car.
Leave the car - waze goes off.
This bulid in feature have a Yanosik app (waze clone in Poland)

I now use Flitsmeister but notice that waze is more precise, too bad it still has no auto on/auto off function when connecting to certain bluetooth devices like lets say a motorcycle nav unit...

Use tasker for this. I did it the other way, I start bluetooth when waze starts :)

poweron app waze when bluetooth ID car are recognized witch by car or by motorcycle if recognized bluetooth ID motorcycle (ask at first connection). so powerpff when disconnected.

Many cars have Bluetooth, and our phones connect and disconnect automatically on starting and shutting down the car. It can be used as an indication of the drive ending, and optionally closing/sleeping Waze and/or setting the parking place
I imagine an option stating “On Bluetooth disconnected: Mark parking place on/off - Close/sleep Waze on/off” -

It would be good if there was a setting to start the app automatically when a specific Bluetooth connection (or one of several) is detected, so that it would start automatically when I get in the car. It would make people use the app more often, thus increasing the user base and accuracy of reported data. Also, there could be a check for "and the phone is charging" so that it does not drain the battery if the phone is not charging. Similarly, the app could stop when I leave the car, as I'm definitely not driving anymore.
