Police on the move and what side
Police on the move: I would put an option on the police spotter that shows moving/same side or moving/other side of the road. The app can see what direction/side the motorist is on, it would be a simple change to show that the police are moving on your side or other.

First let me say this is hands down the BEST GPS map ever created. I strongly support you guys. I drive a Grand Cherokee SRT8 with a 10" custom installed samsung galaxy tablet. Once I enter my vehicle...WAZE opens!
I was wondering if the developers could impliment a feature I was thinking of while driving with a officer beside me in traffic for a considerable distance.
When we mark police as 'hidden' or 'visible', a 'in motion' feature would be GREAT.
How it would work is when a particular wazer is driving and a cop is in traffic in motion with him..he hits the police, in motion button and that particular user becomes HIGHLIGHTED for other users to see in a way that we know a officer is in traffic driving very close or beside the user. Once the officer leaves the route the user was on, a 'break off' button enables the user to have a menu open asking where the break off took place, the map shows and you click the direction the officer broke off in.
Just an idea.
Keep up the great work!

Allow the selection of both "Other Side" and "Hidden" when reporting Police.
For example, I was a passenger traveling on a freeway this weekend. On the other side were to police vehicles parked behind a building. I was able to mark that there were police on the other side, but my report was most likely removed because other Wazers did not see the police in the location I had marked due to being behind the building. I think it would be helpful to allow users to select Other Side and Hidden.

When reporting for the other side it would be helpful to be able to select more than one option. For example being able to select "other side" as well as either "hidden" or "visible"

I wanted to make the same recommendation. If I see a cop passing me I want to report it, so that all the users ahead of me can be alerted.
Thanks!

Allow me to indicate that the Police is moving/traveling and either the same direction as me or opposite direction.

please search before posting another request that matches others on here.
there are many other request matching this one. Since the 4.x upgrade on iOS removing the ability to report events on the other side of the road, waze has become completely WORTHLESS. However, THEY ARE PUNISHING those of us who have NOT UPGRADED by not giving us our points for driving and reporting events even though other users can see them and thank us for them. Recently, before i downgraded back to 3.9.x, I was driving and noticed and accident and traffic completely stopped on the other side of the road. I was not able to alert other wazers to the situation because the option was removed from the new 4.x version. There were other wazers en route to that area but none there at the time so i was not able to help them because i was on the current 4.x version. Until it is restored, or they at lest restore our points, i'm staying on v3.9 so I can help other wazers (which used to be the purpose of this app) and will be getting my points through WME.

We used to be able to report traffic issues on the 'other' side of the road.

It would be great idea if users could be warned within a preset radius of police alerts, particularly if police is coming behind you. Currently, one can only see alert made in the direction of travel. Users can only alert if police is visible or invisible and can not alert others if police is moving.

Why doesn't Wazy add to the already existing "stationary police, visible/hidden" option; add a "moving/driving police" option?

Mark police moving or parked

Please allow a user to tag the highway patrol (Z) and set (Z) in the direction of traffic at (X + A) miles per hour, where X is the speed of traffic and A is an accelerator (+5mph, +10mph, etc) set by the user. This will approximate the location of Z (highway patrol) and if Z approaches a Waze user, an alarm will sound “Police approaching”. The location of Z will be recalculated once a user hits “like”... give or take a few seconds (times the speed of forward moving traffic). Should enough users hit an option “Not in site”, Z will be removed…probably because the cop has exited or has pulled over.
Revenue generation: When a user hits “like”, offer the option for them to make a donation ($1, $5, $100, etc), any amount that is far less than the speeding ticket they would have received.

Would love to be able to easily tell others which side of the road an accident or "object in the road" is on. It would be so helpful when you are stopped in a long line of traffic because of an accident, to know which lane is closed or blocked.

Police reporting needs to be enhanced. Should include the following: Stationary, Stationary someone pulled over, Moving (and direction of moving)
- IF moving the object should move with time in the direction of travel at the listed current speed of the road.
All objects should "dim" with age. New objects bright, as the object ages/moves it should become more transparent.
