Maintain legacy wiki indefinitely, with soft redirects to replacement content, so as not to lose external links.
The current plan is to shut down the legacy wiki. Existing external links will then rot. Some of those links may be important for various reasons.
A better solution would be to maintain it in read-only mode indefinitely, with soft redirects to the replacement content on Wazeopedia. This will allow users who hit a rotted link to see that the the link is old and pointing to old information, while at the same time having the opportunity to click through to more current content on that topic. There is little cost in doing this. Technical wiki masters could be left with editing access to maintain changes to the soft redirection or to eventually blank.remove legacy pages.
The Devs plan to watch incoming requests for legacy links over several months, and then create specific redirects for those links. This will reduce the impact of shutting down the legacy wiki.
