Bring back opposite lane reporting
Why on earth was opposite direction reporting removed? I could get quite sarcastic right now, but it's too early..
Great thinking! We’ll share with the team; they’re always interested in new feature ideas.

Loren is exactly right, this is a significant safety downgrade, makes no sense. IDK about points, if that's the issue, give less points for opposite lane warnings.

If the user sees police cruising in some way, it should notify others from far. For example i see police going in another directon than me and if i post "police cruising in opposite direction" then people can see it few kilometres before and be warned.

would be good to be able to give details about the traffic in the opposite direction (often my walk way is free but the opposite is blocked by traffic ... and I can not give details, and if is not a wazer on the opposite blocked way the others and you also will not know its block...)

Exactly you should be able to report more than just cops on the other side of the road. This is easy enough to implement. Waze what is your status on this?

We see more facing traffic than we do on our side of the highway, we have to be able to post events or police presence in ALL DIRECTIONS wi h is not the case actually. Thanks

Completely disagree- as a community aid, we should be ready to give our perception of what's going on, to help those driving to where we've been. About a cluttered screen? That's another issue completely.

With the last update, and quicker/less button pushing, I can now no longer add hazards or events in the opposite lane of travel. So If I observed a crash or stalled vehicle, or law enforcement, it will post it in the lane I am. But this defeats the purpose of alerting other wazers who are going the opposite direction.
Also My score has not updated in at least three weeks, WHATS UP?

The ability to report traffic jams in the opposite direction, was lost with the new version!

A significant safety feature was removed in the latest version when the ability to notify drivers on the opposite side of the road on impending hazards. I have been a waze user for over one year and do not care about accumulating points so I am not worried about that aspect. I am concerned that I cannot not warn oncoming traffic of vehicles stopped on the side of the road, etc. as hazards. Bring this feature back.

Missing buffer for the alerts.
Hello Wazers!
I was on a highway at dawn, with little movement when I spied an accident before a turn in the opposite route.
The cars from the opposite direction are at imminent risk.
You can be with your family.
Quickly touch the alert in waze.
He answers me. No connection!
Passes a kilometer or so, the connection is re-established. Toco on alert and it will place in my lane without audible warning to those who are heading toward the desatre.
And the worst. In the wrong place!
Suggestion:
Back the option of alert in the opposite lane.
Accept the geo-alert, recording and sending in a buffer so reestablish the connection.
For those who do not know, whats, do it. You can reply including audio, images, it sends so get connection.
PS, the story is an illustration, although I've been through a similar situation.

Rapidamente toco o alerta no waze.
Ele me responde. Sem conexão!
Passa um Quilômetro, nem isso, a conexão está restabelecida. Toco no alerta e ele vai posicionar na minha pista, sem aviso sonoro para os que estão indo em direção ao desatre.
E o pior. No lugar errado!

Hi just a bit of feed back. Regarding traffic alerts and updates.. Can it be made possible where if you can see traffic on another road near to you you can add it in by touching the screen and adding traffic in the info bar for the particular road you can see is busy, i.e the road opposite for example. This will help other drivers hugely as you can only currently add a traffic jam on the road your on. Thanks

I believe to report while driving is distracting, why not have on screen direct buttons for the most reported reports, Accident, Police, Hazzard etc.. Create the buttons on right and left side of screen (for your side or opposite side of road. Currently it takes 4 or 5 pressing functions to send a report. This new way could be done in2. We will not lose that much from the map. Thank you for listening

All report dialogs have a "my side/other side" button... I don't see a problem.

Previously we could provide traffic conditions on the other side of the road. Without that, people are deprived of 50% of the feedback on traffic, and conditions are not as current as they could be. When I see bad traffic on the other side of the road, it drives me crazy that I can't warn others.

I love warning users of hazards I see whilst I am driving... but the user interface is really bad. In my opinion you should have on each side of the screen small icons that you could swipe inwards to report hazards/police on either lane
for example, a small icon with the police icon on each side, you would swipe the left icon inwards to report a police on the left lane or swipe the right icon inwards to report it on the opposite lane.
You already have these icons and the UI for doing this... they show up when you want to report on an hazard but you click the report later icon. This is in a way completely pointless ... if you when through the trouble of selecting the issue you wanted to report why would you choose to report it later? Please repurpose the UI, make these pending reporting icons permanently visible and let the user swipe inwards every time they want to report them!

The moment you would report it, the police would already be at another place. This would result in a lot of false positives and annoy people a lot. I know Coyote does do reporting of moving police, but that's another type of app.

i've found a few feature requests related to this but the idea of this request goes beyond the scope of the subject line. Since the 4.x upgrade on iOS removing the ability to report events on the other side of the road, waze has become completely WORTHLESS. However, THEY ARE PUNISHING those of us who have NOT UPGRADED by not giving us our points for driving and reporting events even though other users can see them and thank us for them. Recently, before i downgraded back to 3.9.x, I was driving and noticed and accident and traffic completely stopped on the other side of the road. I was not able to alert other wazers to the situation because the option was removed from the new 4.x version. There were other wazers en route to that area but none there at the time so i was not able to help them because i was on the current 4.x version. Until it is restored, or they at lest restore our points, i'm staying on v3.9 so I can help other wazers (which used to be the purpose of this app) and will be getting my points through WME.

It's important to identify which side of the road I'm reporting a Hazard on so the correct lane gets the report. Your instructions on this website says that after you select ANY report that I'm supposed to specify which side of the road it's on. HOWEVER, that app does NOT have that option for Hazards NOR Traffic Jams! PLEASE add it for ALL reports like your instruction suggests/requires.

It was always helpful to know where there was a hazard, and it didn't matter which direction the poster was travelling.
