Lane closure reports made easy
I'd like a report button that would indicate lane closures.
Could press to report the beginning of the lane closure, then press again to report the end.
Then you indicate whether it's the left, right, or center lane.

We plan to work on having an option to report a lane closure in the near future. In the meantime, make sure you’ve got the latest version of Waze for all the latest features.

It would be great if under on road hazards there was an option to indicate lane closures.

Many times, when I'm manning a Road Closure as part of my police duties, I have to stand in the road, launch Waze on my device and then manually try and 'drive' to somewhere just so I can then select Road Closure. Unfortunately because of the limitations of dragging the map farther away from where you are, I cannot insert a road closure from the other way (sometimes needed) to help divert traffic around. If you've ever manned a road closure or stumbled upon one as a civilian, it's so boring being asked whether the road is closed or whats the route to get to ABC or home etc. I usually just say, use Waze and it'll route you home. Any chance we can allow dragging the map farther afield for this?

When identifying construction, categorize type (all lanes open, shoulder closed, right lane closed, left lane closed) also the length of construction zone ( some are miles long)

My husband and I travel a lot, and we have run into a problem a lot with Waze because it would tell us to go a certain way but when we get to certain streets or highway entrances as let Waze Navigation, they are closed.
There needs to be a feature added that if we see a street is closed, we can mark it as such on the map for other wazers.
Or highway entrances, let’s say we get to a highway entrance and it is closed, it has a sign that due to construction, this entrance will be closed as of 11pm until 5 am the next day. This will be for the months of June, July and August.
I think it’s very important to have this feature because it happened to ya several times and the next entrance was pretty far and no other way to get to where we were going! -

Under construction, there should be a feature added that we could select to show that there is a lane closure.
We should also be able to select whether it is just one lane closed or two lanes and whether it is the lanes on the right or left of us.
And a feature to show that only one lane is currently opened.

It would be nice to have a heads up on what Lanes are closed for an accident or construction I know this could be kinda hard to but it would be so helpful to know what's going on around you as a trucker it's nice to have a cb to know where I need to be but when I'm in my car it's a guessing game it would just help with jumping from one lane to another

Bonjour,
Il nous arrive d'avoir connaissance de la fermeture de route mais sans être spécialement à proximité.
Serait-il possible de signaler les fermetures de voies depuis un téléphone ou un PC sans être à proximité de la route fermée.

Route 9 in Garrison is currently closed everyone is indicating an accident around the area of route 9 and 403 because you can't get to where the road closure is Waze is still trying to tell us to take route 9 North that path is not available

When you arrive at a motorway colony on a highway, caused by an accident, or working on a highway. It would determine exactly which of the lanes is blocked and which is passable. In order to immediately see which of the lanes can be selected.

Not only is it bad to not know about road closures, but I think it’s possible that the Waze algorithm sees no traffic on the road and then directs you right to a dead end. Yesterday was the first day of school in Miami and Waze took me and many other drivers to a road that is closed due to train track construction. If you allowed drivers to report this, you could verify it real time by seeing that all the Waze drivers in the area are taking evasive routes around the closure.

Add the option for a editor imposed, really heavy penalty to be applied to segments for when a road is technically passable, so we don't want to use a RTC, but it should really be avoided by the routing system and drivers unless absolutely needed.
Examples include construction resulting in a 1-way road.
Construction resulting in a road that's not really fit for driving most cars on, even if the town/state has left it open for travel
Accidents that cause multi-lane closures but traffic is allowed to slowly creep by.This would be best implemented in real-time like closures are.

I would expect this information to come from the users as well as government entities that are planning road closures. An expected end date could come from the government; it misght be too distracting for the end users to enter it.

I should also add "and off route".

I passed a ramp closure on my way to a small town in Ne. Couldn't mark it because it wasn't part of my route. After my delivery Waze told me to go straight through it. That route would have cost me a 20 mile turn around just so I could inform Wsze of the closure. There were also 2 long term construction projects in my home town that kept opening back up prematurely. If we could mark closures before we see them this would no longer be a point of frustration. Right now there are TONS of bridges out all over Nebraska. Let the locals report them without driving up to them.

its annoying that you cant report a closure etc.. once you are out of the immediate area. you usually cant stop and do it right then. especially offramps and the like.

Hell yeah. This happened to me just this Tuesday, October 9th. All on-ramps to the 410 North (starting from the 401) were closed as far as I could tell yet Waze would not stop trying to put me back on to the 410. Had me going around and around. YES, the trick would've been to toggle on "avoid freeways" but I forgot where to toggle it thusly, didn't want to pull over on the 401 to find the setting and wasn't going to do it while driving obviously. Eventually just said f*ck it and took the first major road I could find all the way north to a proper cross road. Added about 30 minutes to my commute as a result.

Yet again, while following Waze instructions the app wanted me to take a ramp onto the autobahn BUT it had been closed. It would be so simple if I could use a voice control (or button press) “last instruction disobeyed due to road block”. Even better if this button appears for a few seconds in the corner of the screen every time I disobey the navigation instructions.
Instead I’m expected to fiddle around with the app, try and locate the junction I’d passed and then hit the correct arrow for the correct lane. This might be achievable on a huge tablet but not on a mobile phone. So for the next fifteen minutes I had to ignore waze’s attempts to take me back to the closed junction. And other Waze users weren’t warned of the closure either.
This simple button would help everyone.
