Some of the voices we feature are promotional, meaning they are only available for a limited time.
We offer special voices for holidays, events, and just for fun.
You can use these for the length of the promotion. When the promotion ends, your voice will reset to the default and the voice will no longer appear in the Sound menu.

We hope that you enjoyed the voice while it was available and can’t wait to share more exciting voices to come!

Want to try another voice?

Tap Menu and tap the Settings wheel.
Tap Voice & sound.
Tap Voice Language and select the voice you’d like to use.

    Return the Madea voice option to the app

    Like other commenters, I only started using Waze because of the Madea voice. Google Maps works just fine (and is less annoying).

    I only switched to Waze for Madia. If she's not coming back, then I'm leaving. Google maps works just as well with such a boring voice.

    I downloaded the app just to have Madea give me directions. If this is no longer going to be an option, then I'll just go back to Google maps. It's no different than the others.

    I think you should offer the option to purchase favorite voices like madea, tpain, Morgan Freeman.
    You should also get new voices like Samuel L Jackson , Denzel Washington,Beyonce, TD Jakes, KirkFranklin, Steve Harvey. Larry the Cable Guy, Gordon Ramsey, Chris Tucker, Vin Diesel, Matt Williams

    So I switched over to Waze because of the Tyler Perry "Madea" voice navigation. Is it coming back or am I going back to Google MAPS??????

    Hey I pay one dollar if you let me keep the voice and please add more funny comedians.

    Lets call it Wazes voices Hey TomTom had over 30 voices for alerts.

    BUT THE BEST ONE WAS WHEN YOU MISSED YOUR EXIT THE VOICE MADE FUN OF ME WHEN I HAD TO PAY A TOLL AWESOME.(from TomTom)

    FOR EXAMPLE:iT Would say haha you miss your exit now pay your toll.

    And I really had to go through a toll.(very Funny)

    I was driving with Madea and I began to think there is only one person I want giving me directions:

    Christopher Walken

    But I wouldn't mind Samuel L. Jackson yelling me directions either.

    Make a "Rated R" section to download voices such as R Lee Ermy, Samuel L Jackson, Madea, etc etc. This can be for the adults that enjoy hearing these people in their true vulgar state!
