Police on the move and what side
Police on the move: I would put an option on the police spotter that shows moving/same side or moving/other side of the road. The app can see what direction/side the motorist is on, it would be a simple change to show that the police are moving on your side or other.

This is exactly what I wanted to suggest. So many times people report seeing police and when I get there they aren't anywhere to be seen. It would be much more useful to know if they were heading my direction or away from me. Love the app!

I've long wished for this feature, a report for when a police vehicle passes on the highway. "Smoky is rolling" as the CB truckers used to say. It could be a 1-2 mile long blue arrow animation like the red animation for slowdowns or standstills.

When someone posts an alert of police…can the option say, stopped or moving? If moving is suggested, request north, east, west or south bound and the time reported as an alert??

Hi Waze! Thank you for offering this great service.
I have some suggestions regarding police notification: to have the possibility to notify police on the move, not only static. Also, if any user notifies police presence within 10 km / 6 miles radius, it will be useful to be notified, especially if it is coming from behind.
Thank you! -

In the feature for reporting police present, it would be helpful to have an option for ‘parked’ or ‘moving with traffic’. Thank you.

Australia uses a lot of mobile speed cameras and it would be good to note them for drivers correctly instead of just noting 'polce ahead' - it should say 'mobile speed camera reported ahead'. It could be a sub choice in the police category or have its own icon on the top layer for carplay etc.. see https://www.speedalert-pro.com.au/SPEED-CAMERAS-in-Australia-Watch-Out-for-Speed-Cameras-s/152.htm

When reporting, use a 3 seconds timeout dialog to present an option to change side.
There should be 3 buttons:
Confirm (3/2/1), Other Side, Cancel. If any button not pressed in 3 seconds, it will be send out as this side. If press Other Side, the report will be shown on other side. If Cancel pressed, the report will be cancelled.
When Waze show a user Police alert with 2 buttons, add another button "On other side" to it, so we will have a chance to correct the side.

This is the best idea in Waze. More than the final solution, I want to see the possible methods to implement this. The only thing I can think of is activating Waze on some of my phones, and taping it to some of the police cars. :)

Need to be able to identify a police vehicle moving in the same direction or opposite

Sometimes you are traveling on roads with not much traffic and police are hiding. It would be nice to be warned of where they typically hide from prior reports.

This may be considered police - visible but it could be another category for reporting when they are looking for speeders.

Add an option when selecting stopped vehicle for the other side like we do for police.

You can add hidden police reports for your side, but often you don't see them in time to report them. However, most hidden police are easily seen from the other side of the road. Adding "Other Side - Hidden" would let users flag hidden police for users on the opposite side.

When you go report a vehicle stoped on shoulder. Well if you see a vehicle on the other side of the road you can report that.

Waze could add a moving police icon, that when reported moves. This could be done by a projected speed based off the speed zones. Waze would estimate the distance travelled by speed so road users can have a rough determinism where a police car is. When the police stops then someone else can report the cop as stationary.

We can select where a cop is but need to be Abe to post that he’s traveling. Which way, North south east west and where and when cop gets off highway or wherever. I just kept posting that there was a visible police all the way down 59 and I’m sure people were wondering what the hell was going on. But I wanted to warn people!
