Make Waze continue running in background untill it is turned off
I use my phone for more than just Waze when I'm driving. Waze does not consistently run in the background when I switch to control another app (even when I'm driving on the highway at 65 mph). I'd really like to see an option in settings to keep Waze active until I manually exit. Alternatively, how about an option that keeps Waze active as long as my phone is in the car dock?

For the last week, My Waze keeps turning itself off after only a few minutes. Any advise how to keep it going when it is giving me directions?

Was this ever resolved. App best out there to navigate traffic, but requires 100% of phone so it renders it's phone capabilities useless when using it.

I agree. I like to keep the screen locked while driving to avoid the icons burning in my phone screen and to save battery, but waze always closes after a couple of minutes.

Agree with Omer, most of the time i make waze running on background. But when i want to report issues, i notice that it was automatically turn off.
Please make parameters for allowing user to setting the acceptable idle time.
Especially in my town where the traffic can make you stay still for minutes. -

Absolutely the same situation with incomong calls. Of course I use bluetooth but when the call is over, Wize continues to work, voice instructions continue but display is switched off
Currently I have to switch it on by Power button (LG optimus black) -

On the HTC One X running ICS (4.0.4) / Waze release 3.5.3.0, you have to click your waze icon in the bottom left then select "Switch Off" to actually turn Waze off. Any other button (such as the center Home Plate button), Waze will continue to run and alert you to hazards. To get back to Waze, you swipe down from the top to get to the alerts and there's a "return to Waze" by the happy little Waze icon. So in a sense, it already does this as of this posting.
On the second suggestion, I'm not sure how Waze would know if it's in a car dock or not.

same problem. waze often times out even if I only switch to anther app for a couple of minutes. this is a real problem. I would like to control the timeout. say allow 5 min, 15 min, 1 hour and 'never'
