Its been 1 week i m using waze over Google map and I m quite impressed but I think waze should also add alert notifications about school zones and put the speed limit down to 40 to alert the driver. That will be really helpful. Thats the only thing I feel is missing.

I've had 2 fines in as many weeks, lost half of my demerit points. We need this NOW!

From the app report a map problem, let the editor know its a school zone and the posted speed limit. When you approach the area you will get a speed warning alert.

There are a dozen or so schools in my area, and school zones can make a huge difference in traffic and ETAs, so this feature that would allow the routes to plan accordingly to a set schedule of temporary reduced speed limits and areas that will likely have traffic build up (the automatic traffic detection is not as good as you’d think it’d be).

Please add school zone alert in the alert setting.

Can use school zone sound alter

This would be a good addition in the editor like junction boxes, you mark the schools drop off zone out with the box and set the hours of operation and when a waze user goes near or past it displays a warning school near by stay alert and the message only displays during the set hours it operates also turn the road colour to orange and show the school crossing sign on the roads near by or just the sign for school crossing during the operation hours.

A warning should be enough to alert the drive and the driver can make a decision (based on time) whether it's an enforcement time for the school zone (most in my area are 7-9am and 2-4pm. This would be helpful because POLICE often use school zones as SPEED TRAP. I know there is is a police icon, but this would help establish on on-going alert in case other Wazers have not posted the police car.

Time-based speed limits have been planned for a while now, but it's been bumped for other priorities. We'll be mapping it in Australia as soon as we can. :)

Yes in Australia it is a necessity.

I work for an IT company who mainly supports schools. We're finding that more and more of the streets we need to drive down have restrictions on when you can drive. If you do not notice or are aware of the signage/times, you will incur a PCN, which is at employees' own cost.

Would it be possible to implement a warning or option to avoid these streets at such a time? A list of areas we're affected by are as follows:

School zone speed limit will be a good addition to app (Australia)

PLEASE UPDATE WITH SCHOOL ZONES!!

So many times have I been driving and haven't noticed that the speed has changed and dropped to 40km/ph. This would be a huge help!!

It would be good to be able to select object on road as a hazard. And also identify school zones like a spoed camera is identified.

School Zones require motorists to slow down … an alert would be helpful.

Better to update speed limit when there is a school zone since it is always easy to over speed when there is a school zone.

You stated it perfectly. $50 fine(tax) in my area. Locality made a million in a weak on only 4 schools. During reduced pandemic traffic.
Also, waze- if done correctly, this would be a huge boost in constant viewership (i.e.- increases your advertising). I would have waze on every moment I drive.

Just like report police, report active school zone.
Alert asks others “still active”.

Some area have speed limits that vary according to the time of day, eg school zones. Providing warning that you’re entering a variable speed zone would be useful.
