stop ignoring smaller roads for long routes
Waze starts to ignore road types the longer my commute is, according to my personal experience and the "quick help". So waze isn't being much better than a common gps app for any commute longer than 30km, and mine is longer than 30km.
From waze quick help:
0-15 km - All road types are allows for routing.
15-20 km - All road types except Streets.
20-30 km - All road types except Streets and Primary streets.
30-200 km - Only Minor, Major, and Freeways.
more than 200 km - only Freeways.

I think it should be an option you can turn on and off. To lump with this, Waze should allow you to turn off the penalties of going to smaller roads. It often pucks terrible routes because it has such a hard on for big roads.
I've used waze for travel one time, more than 200km. Waze led me to a primary streets to avoid a congestion on the freeway. So i think it's still consider rooad types other than freeways.
