Show speed limits for the roads currently traveling
Post the current speed limit when using the speedometer feature

*independent speed limit option, not with speedometer (we should all have one in our cars already, and less stuff crowding the screen)
*some one suggested an alert letting us know we are speeding. yes! but with our own possible adjustment of parameters (i.e. I always speed 10mph over the limit)

Some GPS have already this feature so if Waze include it'll be great and mostly helpful for all.
feature available even if the speedometer isn't activate !

I think this feature should be available even for users who don't use the speedometer. I don't like to see the speedometer on my screen, but I would like to see the speed limits.

I actually tried this feature with the GPS and came with a Dodge automobile Rental Car from the year 2013, so it should be easy to add to the Waze app

Showing the road's speed limit that you are traveling on is a great way to avoid tickets if you've missed a speed change sign. Many states change speed limit signs as you pass through different towns and can be an effective way to trap speeders. Knowing the speed of the road from the Waze screen could be very useful. My wife has this on her GPS in her car. Looking forward to seeing in future!

Why wasnt it implemented to begin with? Tomtom, Garmin, I-Go all display them. Why cant Waze ?

@eddy... at least this one already has a 'planned' tag, although also already a long time in the past. A lot of people want different things ;) ... this one is actually a nobrainer as "nice to have functionality"

a great idea but you can see the date that this post was created and has passed several years , this should not be called suggestion box if not the wishing well

would be great to have speed limit show, and then go say orange or yellow for 5 mph over and flash red when you are over that. switchable audio warning if desired.

Yes. Great idea! If it is too difficult for the Waze to download official data, the Waze user community could enter posted speed limits via the app.

I had this feature back in my Garmin days, but the displayed posted speed limit was wrong many times. You just simply couldn't trust it.

This is the only thing essential that Waze is missing...just make the speed indicator on the display turn red and beep when going over the limit...can't wait for this feature(surprised it is not already implemented)

This would be a great feature! I unfortunately got catgut in a speed trap and missed a 45 mph sign aa I was leaving a 55 mph section. I luckily saw the 35 mph sign and slowed down. However this wasn't soon enough as the local NV trooper had me on a radar for over the limit of the 45 mph.
If this feature was enabled I would have heard a voice command let me know about the change.
Well too late for me, but maybe not the next person.

I would like to have speed limit data displayed next to current speed, and a voice alerting me when I exceed the limit. I would also like a log of my speed vs time or location to verify or argue accused violations. No one in their right mind would try to hold WAZE accountable for driver accountability.
