Remove Passenger Confirmation
I love this app…with one exception of the completely pointless, totally useless, down right idiotic passenger confirmation box to allow inputs while moving. Really? Everywhere else in the app this doesn't come up. Waze is the ONLY app I've use that polices text and speech-to-text input ability while moving. You might as well interject after the passenger confirmation "Uh-oh! You're a passenger please confirm you've buckled your seat belt." but don't want to forget to confirm this after: "Uh-oh You're a passenger with a seat belt on, please confirm that you're not sitting in the front seat if you're younger than 8 years old or weigh less than 60lbs"
Please disable this, give the user the ability to disable this or make a paid feature so I can pay to have this removed.
Great thinking! The issue you raised has been addressed in a recent redesign. Hope you like it!

I'm an Uber driver and use Waze all the time, however there are these confirmation screens (1) at a new route start that should be optional but are not. There is no point in showing the complete route everytime I start a new ride. It is enough having the button to show the whole map whenever I need to check the route. Also, whenever I restart Waze (2) he asks me if I want to
'continue' the previous route. Why asking this? Just resume the route and if I don't want it to resume I use the existing STOP button to stop it and then start a new route myself. Also, let's say I decide to resume the previous ride, he still shows me a route preview (3) with a "GO NOW" button. Why Waze just don't start imediatelly without any further confirmation? Sometimes we have 3 confirmation steps just to restart the app and resume a previous route. There should be a flag the allows expedite restart (no confirmation at all). If this exists already, please let me know how to do it. -

I completely agree... it is a pain when I am trying to get somewhere and this pops up blocking my map.

This pop has been one of the main reasons that has actually contributed to a close call accident. I get in my car, forget to hit the route, start driving, usually by the time I get close to the highway, "oh shit, need to set route to check for traffic", and now my 2 button push has turned into 4. So what kind of liability does Waze hold, if the PASSENGER button is the very reason why I wreck. It's idiotic....the type of people that Sue and blame as many people as they can instead of just taking the responsibility for their own actions, are going to do that regardless. Don't make the rest of us suffer. Seems pretty trivial problem, but it's obviously important enough to everyone, including myself, to take time and spend time to try and figure out to disable this feature.

To the idiot saying its for legal reasons; no it's not. There's nothing stopping them from allowing the pop up to be disabled upon viewing a one-time warning. If Google wasn't so lousy I'd go back to using them just like everyone else was.
It's just too bad that Waze would have you check that box while doing 70+ mph on the interstate. No one is going to screw around pulling off a highway to do something that takes 10 seconds.
If you added that feature I would pay for the app. I pay for Spotify and it's much less helpful than Waze is, HOWEVER, if you decided to charge for the app WITHOUT implementing the ability to remove the pop-up, I would delete Waze asap and go back to using Google, no questions. Also, showing ads everytime I pull up to a stop light is pretty pathetic and VERY distracting. If you are so concerned with drivers being focused then why are you showing pop up ads for locations nearby?
Yeah. Fuck you, Waze.

Remove it waze! All it does is make using the GPS function MORE DANGEROUS. Remove it completely or allow it to be disabled with a warning or something.

Get rid of the damn passenger pop up! I'm home and not in my car and it comes up. Might be better off going back to google maps!

So true! Moronic decision.
Even the built in car GPS, or all the navigation apps in history presume that the driver needs to have access to address input and of course is responsible for all activities and safety of the vehicle. What if there is no passenger!? Now it takes one more look of the driver tot he screen to actually dismiss the stupid popup!
Who makes these decisions? And who reads the suggestion box?

So pointless Waze I want you to know I lie everytime. Everytime that stupid box appears and I click passenger I am going 75 mph on an interstate. You’re stupid check box will never do what it’s intended to, it is just plain infuriating. Delete it!

It's worse than that... This is me looking for a way to disable the prompt while driving because it has annoyed me too many times.
I'm on a highway, Google Maps is stupidly taking the slow route and when I want to find an alternate route with Waze, it wants to cause me further pointless distraction.

Waze is doing this for legal reasons. Move on, guys -- they'll never remove it.

It's absurd. There ought be a checkbox to disable it without hacking, much like USELESS vehicle on shoulder distraction
