Ability to select the types of hazards to enable/disable
Sometimes, certain hazards are not very helpful and are more of a distraction than anything. For example, vehicles stopped on the shoulder, weather, and missing sign are not very important and I dismiss them every time I see it. At times I feel like disabling hazards altogether.
Great news! The ability to disable individual alert notifications is now available in Waze. Install the latest app version to check it out.

I live in an area that there are 5 to 10 red light cameras per square mile. Much as I love Waze I’m ready to get rid of it. I can’t stand the red light camera warning. Not only can you not turn it off but I don’t even understand why it’s a featured?

There's no setting option to turn off voice and on-screen alerts for red light cameras. There is a setting for many other alerts such as speed cams, but nothing for red light cameras. Why? It's basically obnoxious being forced to get these alerts when you don't want 'em.

If you don’t like it just disable it in your settings !!

I agree!! Why would anyone need to know about this?? We are not trying to fly through red lights. I don't want to turn off all sound, i want some alerts just not this one! Obviously. I drive by the same lights everyday, WHY DO I NEED THIS ANNOYING REMINDER. It's such an easy fix WAZE. Why not make it an option??

On my waze the railroad crossing notification was a loud annoying bell sound now I see they have come up with railroad crossing ahead which is better but I still get the annoying notification sound once and a while

My office is near several railroad tracks and I recently started seeing dozens of annoying railroad crossing icons on my map. I've been crossing them for years, so I know where they are. I don't want to see them. I want to disable viewing them - they just clutter my map and give me an alert every half mile before I cross each one, twice a day. I even had a railroad crossing alert show up one day last week on Interstate 215 in Salt Lake City where there is no crossing (the track goes under the freeway). Really? Please give me the option to to disable viewing them. In my 53 years of driving I've never had trouble seeing a railroad crosssing, and I don't need help seeing them now. Thank you.

How is this still a thing. Several threads on this with countless replies and not a word from Waze staff. Wake the FUCK UP!! There's no reason to keep hearing these reports over and over yet Waze doesn't allow turning them off. Even after disabling "speed trap" alerts, the red light cam alerts keep coming.
Someone on the dev team needs to answer these complaints and explain, in detail, why these alerts cannot be disabled. Or better yet, just give us a toggle to get rid of them and end the stupidity!

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE allow us to turn this off! I’m literally about to switch to Google Maps because I can’t stand these red light cam alerts and there is no option to disable.

The new feature where it notifies an upcoming railroad crossing is annoyingly loud. Can you add the possibility to decrease/mute the volume for those notifications? Thank you.

When sound is disabled, either because a phone call is underway or the user has the volume off, there should an option in the settings to have visual alerts, with each alert type being separately selectable.
I would like to get alerts, while on the phone, or while my passenger is sleeping and I have sounds off, of upcoming:
- route changes
- directions updates
- police ahead
- hazard ahead
- and so onA couple of screen flashes of some kind that catch my peripheral vision would allow me to see the updated status.
Thanks.

For god sake Waze give us the f**king option to turn this red light camera alert off!

Just give us the option already. I can't take it any more. Let me know if it ever gets fixed, mean time I'm just dumping Waze. This is ridiculous and you've had enough time. Not even a response to all these people. Good luck with your crap app.

I wish. Worst thing about Waze, to me.

I signed up just to say turn this bullshit “feature” off! I am totally aware of the redlight camera at the end of my road.

When travelling on Interstate or State Highway, this is a useless alter. You could park 18 wheeler on the shoulder without creating hazard to the driver. There is plenty of room.
But I see the need when travelling in rural highways with only one lane of traffic.Need the ability turn off the this alert as an option.

It is a feature i would want when traveling. Not however when i pass 6 red light cameras twice each day while staying at my winter home. Really need to turn it off!

It would be great to have the ability to mute certain alerts on a stretch of road. For example, everyday going to work, I drive through 4 construction sites. They are going to be there for the next couple of years. Being able to mute just those construction sites instead of all construction sites would be really helpful. Similar would be to be able to mute a pothole on a road that you travel regularly.

What is the point of this warning? Are you saying that all other traffic lights that don't have cameras might be okay to run? Trying to help protect the people who think like that? Ability to report the location of police officers? Tools for criminals? You're going to run a red light. I say let the camera take a picture of them. They need a wake up call. If they didn't already get killed from a collision.
