just logged on here to make this same suggestion. Could simply apply to all roads that do not have dedicated bike lanes. It has been 6 years since the initial comment, how many lives could have been saved had this been implemented right away.

Gostaria de sugerir para que o waze informasse que há ciclistas no acostamento da rodovia (inclusive avisando sobre a lei que protege os ciclistas), tornando mais seguro para quem conduz o veiculo e tambem para o ciclista que trafega na via utilizando o aplicativo waze
Ideia bacana, para tornar um transito mais seguro e com respeito.

I think that this could easily save lives the cyclist would turn on the feature and the car would get an alert. Waze could turn it off based on what road the driver was on so as not to be an annoying feature. For example you would not want this on in downtown Boston since there would be many bikes but it would be great to have it outside of dense urban areas where drivers would be alerted of an upcoming cyclist. Please make this feature soon a friend just last month got hit and barely survived.
