2. Description field for road closures

   You want to pass on information about a road closure to other editors so that they can see why a closure was entered. A description field for internal information would be great, as with restrictions. At the moment you have to share the information, for example, through an extra map comment.

3. WME notification shouldn't reset counter of PMs in forum

   If I get a new private message while I'm in WME, the notification shows a tiny 1, and the counter of unread PMs in the forum is reset to 0. The counter should be reset only after the PM has been read in the forum.

5. Route by best value rather than fastest route

   Waze has, on multiple occasions, suggested long detours that are expected to only be a few minutes faster. When you consider the fuel-costs, cost to operate, etc. this is equivalent to paying a toll to save a few minutes.

   If a wazer could specify the value of their time and the cost of operating their vehicle then the route planning could find the route with the lowest cost (cost being value of one minute X duration of drive plus operating cost X length of drive).

   Since many wazers might not understand how to determine the correct value for their time and their vehicle's operating cost. It might be best to add a tool to Live Map to make it easy for a wazer to test various settings to get the routing behavior that they want.

6. Add gates to the map that can be opened, or closed, for each individual wazer

   Every private installation currently has two, or more, roles (employee/visitor/secret/resident/etc) that are often poorly understood by the map editors. Currently, editors are forced to choose one role then use various segment types to direct wazers to the gate(s) used by that role. For example, in a gated neighborhood we might set the public entrance to local street while all of the resident-only entrances are private road.

   This idea is to have WME support a gate icon that could be dropped onto a segment. These gates would then be visible on the app's map as buttons which a wazer could select to toggle the gate between open and closed. Please note that the gate's status (open/closed) is specific to each individual wazer.

   If all gates are, by default, closed then the routing software would apply an additional penalty to a gated segment unless the wazer whose route is being planned has indicated that that specific gate is open.

   Going back to the previously mentioned gated community, using gates every entrance would be switched to local street with a gate icon on every entrance except those allowing visitors to enter. In the default state, this would result in everyone being routed through the visitor entrance. However, a resident seeing a closed gate icon while using a resident-only entrance could toggle that gate to open. In the future, waze would then route that resident through either the visitor or the open resident-only entrance.

7. Create or Save and edit drive route and daily commute

   Hi

   It would be great if we can create and alter our own drive route. While it is great that Waze does suggest the best route at the time, there might be more alternate routes that do not appear on the list. If we could be able to create and edit out own route, we avoid a certain toll road, but go on another. or choose a certain toll entry point over another that could save us a couple of dollars every trip.

   Or if Waze could use and save our already travelled daily commutes? that would make it easier and we could save this as our daily preferred commute to work.

   Once our daily commutes are created we would be able to see if there are any traffic issues on our own preferred route and we would be able to alter that.

   The other benefit would be if everyone in my local area are using Waze and we are all using the Waze preferred route that could lead to traffic jams, if we had our own custom route we maybe able to avoid it.

8. Allow importing of map problems by Country Coordinators/Global Champs

   There are various tools and open data sources available in several countries that allow us to pinpoint locations on the map where someone should take a look to make sure everything is up to date. I think it would be great if coordinators could upload a file to Waze that would result in map problems appearing in the WME at those locations. There are some userscripts out there for specific cases that can already show such an overview, but that would require all editors to have that script installed.

   Minimum viable product:
   Certain editors get access to a form where they can upload a CSV file of a pre-defined format that includes the coordinates, a description and optionally a LineString (or whichever geometry is supported within the WME). When they upload this file, the system transforms each line in the file into a map problem for any editor to see in the WME.

   Recommended features:
   - The map problems are limited to the management areas and country permissions to prevent spam
   - Support for other CSV delimiter characters: comma, semicolon, tab
   - Provide a preview of the first x rows on a map, so users can quickly see whether everything is in order

   Nice to have:
   - Support for other file formats like KML/KMZ, XLSX, ...
   - Make it possible to slowly roll out these map problems in batches so the whole map isn't filled all at once (set to "nice to have" as it can be done manually by splitting the file)
   - Provide an overview of the progress on the map problems you've submitted as separate "projects"
   - Provide an API that editors can use to submit a list of map problems programmatically

   Here are some examples that I can think of straight away:
   - You have obtained/created a list of recent changes from an open data source and want to make sure that new ones are added and closed ones get removed (speed limits, railway crossings, places, ...)
   - You run a map validation tool that checks for any country-specific invalid features on the map and that can store those locations in a file
   - You have received a bunch of data from an online tool that allows cities to submit road closures and want to make the data available to all editors

9. Remove restriction types in WME for vehicle types and restrictions that are not currently in-app to choose

   Remove all vehicle types in WME, that you cannot currently choose within the Waze App.

   This won't apply to vehicle types that are currently planned to be released to the app, but the "Truck" and "Bus" types haven't been selectable in the App for some time now. This is very confusing for newer editors who are trying to make edits, using vehicle types that will have no effect on anything.

   Similarly please remove the "lane" restrictions like specific restrictions only for the left lane, etc. These do not work and in some edge cases, actually apply to the whole segment unintentionally.

10. Allow assigning house numbers from the map while there.

    I go a lot of places and the house numbers in some areas are either nonexistent or just plain wrong. It would be nice to edit the map while on the street with the house numbers.

    Is there a way to submit corrections? Waze has my address wrong. It sends people to a nearby street. This is a big problem now as I am having groceries delivered during the pandemic. Thanks for any assistance.

12. Consolidate the two WME suggestion boxes

    Please consolidate the two Uservoice-based WME suggestion boxes. There has been a "Waze Map Editor" subcategory of the "Waze Suggestion Box" for at least a few years, and due to default links and navigation that is still an easier suggestion box to find than this one. Or, is there a reason to have two different suggestion boxes for WME?

15. Option for not enabling Closed updates layer when opening UR

    The latest version of WME will now enable the Closed updates layer when opening a UR. Many editors don't want or need this, so I am suggesting a toggle (setting) to prevent this from occurring.

16. Editor Profile daily edit count displayed date

    On the editor profile page (https://www.waze.com/user/editor/username), the daily edit count pill boxes advance at midnight GMT. The date displayed on mouseover shows the date relative to local time. This means after 1600 my time (-8), it will show today's date for edits in the previous 24 hours. At midnight local, the dates all switch and show the "correct" date until 1600 again.
