1. Avoid toll roads

   I have “avoid toll roads” enabled but Waze still includes them. It’d be great if I could “drag” my route and save it as my preferred route.

3. Option to add roads to avoid

   When we go through a road and it is very bad, we may not want to use it again in the near future. We should have an option to add that road to avoidance.

4. € per minute saved for highway route with tolls

   I find myself always going against Waze’s route on my daily commute, because it suggests taking the highway right at the start of the journey, instead of going a bit by the main road until the next city and then joining the highway. This happens because the highway is the fastest route, but the other option is just 4 min extra time in the morning and saves 2 euros in tolls which is half the cost of the journey, if I would take the 100% highway route.
   There could be a feature, where I could say how much 1euro should save me in minutes, could be done with a slider, in the configuration where you chose to avoid tolls or not, and this could be active or not.
   This way I could say than 1 euro needs to save me let’s say 10min, and the algorithm will check if the alternative, the main road, is longer than the minutes x toll cost of the equivalent section.
   Of course this should only happen one time per highway stretch, meaning that it won’t make me leave and join multiple times to the same stretch of highway.

6. Sync contribution points form all google services

   I think waze app, waze map editor and google should merge all points and recalculate accounts levels. For example im contributing actively in waze driving app some time and in google maps pretty good time. And now when i started to edit in waze edit map, i cant even update/add speed bump in my city because of lack of levels/points... I mean, i understand that new users should get to know the platform, but we are not new, its not logically to me this.

7. Show when a driven editable area will expire

   When you gain an editing area by driving, WME never tells you when it will be taken away. The only way to know is to remember the date of every trip you made, which is not realistic. In practice editors discover the loss after the fact, sometimes in the middle of handling a UR that can then no longer be closed.

   The information already exists on Waze's side: those areas are derived from dated drives, and WME already shows that drive history to the editor in "My drives". What is missing is simply surfacing the resulting date.

   What would help, in order of usefulness:
   1. In the "Your areas" tab, show the expiry date (or a countdown) next to each driven area.
   2. A warning when an area is about to expire, so that pending URs can be finished first.
   3. Optionally, the same indication on the map for the area currently in view.

   Worth noting: an editor cannot reliably work this out on their own. The drive history available in the editor is shorter than the validity period, and the area polygon is noticeably wider than the radius the editor announces, so any local estimate stays approximate. Only the server knows the real date.

   This is not a new computation, only the surfacing of a value Waze already holds.

8. Do not automatically re-add a deleted GeoClosure RTC

   Once a GeoClosure RTC is deleted, it should not be automatically re-added to the map.

   1) It interferes with adding the actual RTC, where it will be automatically re-added during the process of adding the actual RTC which most of the time involve the painstaking process of selecting many segments, only to get hit with a "overlapping time" error.

   2) Occasional issue of an inaccurate RTC reported, and is being removed by an editor with on-the-ground knowledge. Only L5 and SM+ are able to add RTCs in Malaysia, surely these editors are more trustworthy on the ground than users who most of the time do not even know the features and how should they be used?

   If they have to be removed, it will only be done by users with reason and of significantly higher standing than the general community.

   Once a GeoClosure RTC is deleted, it should not be automatically re-added to the map.

9. Allow longer Event Name character count

   25 characters is simply not enough for most events. Abbreviations are not possible. Examples: "Merdeka Eve Celebration 2026", translated into Malay, "Sambutan Ambang Merdeka 2026", and some official marathon names I've come across, and ending up not adding these to the event calendar at all for these events.

   Suggest to allow at least 50 characters, I believe that would be more than enough.

    Add a small, dynamic UI element (at the top or bottom of the map) that constantly displays the name of the current city or municipality the driver is in.

    How it works:
    When a driver crosses a municipal border, the app triggers a subtle chime and a brief notification: "Welcome to [City Name]".

    Why it’s a game-changer:

    Driver Awareness: Prevents drivers from accidentally wandering into unintended or unfamiliar cities.

    Situational Context: It’s simply helpful and engaging to always know exactly whose municipal jurisdiction you are driving through.

    Safety & Enforcement: Highly beneficial for law enforcement, emergency services, and reporting incidents, as drivers will instantly know their exact municipal context.

12. Editor drop pin on app

    It would be great if Editors could have a "pin" button on the app drive screen. Sometimes when driving I come across a map error or some feature not existing on the map that would be good to add (like new speedbumps, changes in speed limits etc).

    At the moment Editors would either have to wait for someone else to report the change, or they need to log a General map error, which takes a few screens to complete on the app. This is quite a dangerous situation as your eyes will not be on the road but trying to find the correct button on the screen.

    An "Editor pin" button on the drive screen would allow an Editor to drop a pin at the specific point that needs attention. These pins then appear on their Map Editor interface when they log in to their map editor profile. If they are able to make corrections and changes they can then do so or, if their level is not high enough, they can escalate the pin to higher level editors.

    As these "pins" have been dropped by editors who know about the rules and how editing is done, it in effect gives some extra validity to the issue being reported.

    Not sure whether the amount of editors would justify the addition of this "nice to have", but it would definitely make editors more efficient and safe.

13. URs: Simple reply form to provide more detail

    As most editors will attest to, the rate of receiving follow-up details from users who submit URs is still very low. When we follow up and ask for further details, I'm sure many users click on the 'View Report' button in the e-mail intending to reply, but are then put off by the fact that they have to go through a clumsy process of logging in to a WME interface they probably haven't used before (which is not optimised for mobile phones, and if they haven't previously logged in to WME they have to go through two layers of security checks before arriving at the WME screen).

    My suggestion: When a user is asked to provide further details and clicks on the 'View Report' button, they are sent direct to a simple web-based form interface (optimised for mobile phone use) with a box to input their reply and a button to press 'Submit'.

    I am confident this would significantly improve the rate of feedback we receive from URs, and reduce the amount of time and effort currently wasted by volunteer map editors seeking further information from users.

18. Safety Concern: Missing Stop Sign Display in Waze

    Although stop signs exist at certain locations, they are not displayed in Waze.
    This lack of support may cause drivers—especially those unfamiliar with the area—to overlook stop points, creating safety concerns.
    If Waze Map Editors could directly add stop signs within the editor interface, such issues could be resolved more efficiently.
    For improved safety and map accuracy, please consider adding a feature that allows editors to place stop signs directly.

19. Proposal: Improve Access to Event Announcement Pages from the Live Map

    Hello Waze Team,

    Currently, the Waze Live Map does not provide a link button to event announcement pages. In addition, event detail pages do not include a button to return to the Live Map or the event list.

    As a result, when users share an event detail link on social media and others try to check additional road closures afterward, they have no way to navigate back, which causes the experience to break down.

    To improve usability and navigation, I would like to request the following enhancements:

    Add a link button to event announcement pages on the Live Map

    Add a button on event detail pages to return to the Live Map or the event list

    These improvements would make it easier for users to explore multiple events and prevent them from getting stuck after viewing a shared event page.

20. In WME beta, allow editors to "change" their user level

    As of now, if we want to test certain features in the beta WME, like suggest an edit, or curated tasks for L1 editors we need to have a test Waze account at L1 and then request that this account have access to the beta editor thru a CAR form. Creating these extra accounts and requesting special beta access takes time and effort. A solution to this problem would be a setting in the Beta WME where we could choose how we want to test. As a level 1,2,3, etc. Problem solved; anyone with access to the beta WME can test any new functionalities designed for new editors. Of course, this comes with certain controls: a level 3 cannot test as a level 4, only 1,2,3, and so on.
