    New feature and business suggestion.

Everytime we use waze, we gain points and compete with friends. Eventhough this doesn't work straight forward like a competition, Waze could use points giving to try and make the traffic experience better and safer for everyone, and even, could use these reports as a business partnership with insurance companies, to improve discounts for better drivers.

Like, let's say I will travel for 200km. I could be gaining the points as usual, but also, running for points 200 extra points. How?

The screen would show a very discreet *led* with green and red lights.
A time counter would check how long I was under the speed limit and how long I was above the speed limit. I would be rewarded proportionally with a number of point equivalent to the driving distance of my trip.

Example *(in my 200km trip), during my trip, I drove 70% of the distance below speed limit and the remaining distance, above the speed limit. For my effort on trying to keep the traffic safe, I get extra 70% of 200 points. I get a bonus 140 points for my behavior.

This could also be used as a partnership with insurance companies. Let's say, users could have the option to deliver or not his trip reports to some insurance company. If the driver always have good behavior, or most of the time, he/she could have his behavior reflected in discount on the insurance. Nowadays the insurance companies already give discounts when the driver has no tickets. But this would be a much more precise and fair system, since most of the people drive slow on speed traps, but not all the time.

Well, I am not sure I made myself clear, but I needed to say this idea has been bothering me for a while.

I think this is good idea because:
    - traffic safety *(good for everyone)
    - money saving on insurance *(good for the wazers)
    - profittable partnerships *(good for waze)
