Even when you aren’t “using” Waze, I’d like to see an ability for Waze to be running in the background, and alert you to a delay in your morning/evening commute. I take “Route A” every morning to work. As is, when I get in my car every morning, and I have to load up Waze, confirm I am going to Work, and Waze tells me “Your commute is 25 minutes via Route A”. Every morning. 25 minutes via Route A. Until that one fateful morning there is an accident, and it tells me to take route B and it will be 31 minutes. I come to find out there is an accident on Route A, which would have delayed me over an hour…so I take Route B that morning. But I have to CHECK it EVERY morning.

I’d like to see Waze kinda run in the background, and since Waze KNOWS I go to work M-F at 7:00Am (plus/minus 15 min), pop me up an alert. “Route A looks good, 25 minutes to work”. I don’t even need to launch Waze, because I know my way to work! <lol>

On those rare mornings there’s an accident, Waze pops-up: “Look into Route B. Route A looks delayed (60 minutes)”. At that point, I can open up Waze and actually use it to navigate my way to work along Route B.

I am sure Waze is intelligent enough to realize “This guy drive this route every morning M-F at about the same time…..and he also drives this same route (but in reverse) every evening M-F at about the same time.”, so it’s smart enough to know these are my commutes to/from home/work.
