Waze needs a user manual. This is not a new idea; applications have had user manuals from the beginning. I've invested an hour on-line and can't find a single thing that helps me with my problems. I'm getting close enough to give up on using Waze altoghether.
I have two specific problems and have no idea where to search for help.
First, a 98% blue screen concerning car-polling pops up - apparently spontaneously. Likely, I accidentally hit a button that invokes this screen; or, maybe the app just is trying to push me into using car-pooling. In any case, I can't get out of this screen. So, then, I stop using Waze and switch to Google Maps. Is this the intended result? To drive me away from using Waze>?
I will never use car-pooling as either a driver or rider. Therefore, there is absolutely no point in popping this screen up. If Waze is spontaniously presenting this screen to encourage me to use it the "feature" is counter-productive. If I'm accidentally invoking this screen then I need a feature to turn-off any button that I might accidently press that invokes the screen and keeps me locked out of getting to any other Waze feature until I figure out to make the car-pooling screen go away. Just tell me how to make this stop forever, permanently.
Second, I live in an area with lots of speed-bumps. Some are marked; others aren't. Often, they are invisible. I'd like to use Waze "report" feature to mark the speed-bumps where I drive so that Waze can remind me when I'm approaching a speed-bump.
Waze doesn't have a speed-bump icon to file a report, so I've tried using "Pothole" which is a pretty good analogue. I've tried to report a dozen places in my usual route. In each case, I've tried to report multiple times.
In just one case does Waze seem to have a "Pothole" reported on my route. Perhaps this is because I reported it myself. Perhaps it's because some other Waze user reported it. No way to tell. So, I don't know if I accidentally succeeded once and failed the other 11 or so times.
As noted above, there is no user manual. Therefore, I can't read the non-existant user manual to see if I'm following its instructions in how to file a report for a road hazard. Waze seems to chearfully take my report; and then, ignore it. No hazard appears on the map when I transverse that same place in the future. No announcement of the road hazard.
No doubt, I'm doing something wrong. What am I doing wrong? Where in the non-existant user manual do I look for instructions as to how to use this feature of Waze? Where to I ask my question?
Could somebody somewhere give me a hint as to how to solve my problems? User manual? Turning Car-pooling off completely? Reporting road hazards in such a way that the register and generate reports for drivers, especially for me?
