When I first started using Waze, the "time to leave" notification sound was a quick double honk that sounded like a car horn. I really liked that, because it was very different from the notification sounds used by all my other apps and therefore easily caught my attention. At some point after Google acquired Waze, that sound disappeared. Worse yet, one of the "upgrades" to the app changed the settings in a way that makes it imposible to change what sound file Waze uses for any notifications. From my point of view, this was a step backward and made the app both less user-friendly and less useful.
