Last night driving from Torquay to Bracknell, UK, Waze advised me that A303/M3 route would be slightly quicker than M5/M4. But there was a scheduled (NationalHighways.co.uk/maintenance) overnight closure on A303, which was not in place at the start time of my journey, 20:10, but when I got to it, it blocked the A303 entirely after Countess roundabout. I notified about this, waited and was redirected. The redirection did not follow the diversion sign, so I followed Waze, only to encounter another road closure, which I again notified. The next alternative route included narrow roads with no white lines, and large lorries thundering towards me: so exciting!!! Fortunately I have a small car which can climb banks and hide in hedges.
If only Waze could check scheduled road closures planned to be implemented before the expected end of the journey, and advise accordingly at the start of the journey.
