    This is still happening, I have a non-touch carplay interface and it prevents me from opening any other app.

    Android Auto does not have this problem, is Google purposefully stifling behaviour on iOS/CarPlay on purpose as this has been an ongoing issue for almost half a decade now.

    I'd rather use Waze over Apple Maps but this may be the killer for me.
