Many major roads pass through multiple jurisdictions — city → township → county → state. Each controls its own traffic lights, and the timing between intersections is rarely coordinated. The result is a frustrating pattern where drivers hit every red light, even when traffic is light and speeds are consistent.

This isn’t a speeding issue. It’s a poor timing issue caused by fragmented control of signals.

Waze could help by calculating and displaying the optimal driving speed to minimize red‑light stops on a selected road segment. This would be based on:

    Light‑cycle patterns
    Real‑time traffic flow
    Historical timing data
    Time‑of‑day variations

The app would simply show: Maintain 27 mph to catch the next 3 green lights.
