   Just realized this with the Note 9 - Android 8. This needs to be fixed. I use Waze in car together with DPF monitoring app and neither will refresh until they are in focus (topmost). On my old rooted Note 3 with Phronesis rom, this was possible, both apps were working as if active and I only now realized, that it's something which is not done out of the box. Please fix this ASAP!
