    As a former police officer working on Hwy.401 in Ontario Canada, I know that mile marker designations would greatly assist in dispatching police, ambulance and fire services to the exact location where needed and in a very timely manner. Please consider this.

    I've always thought this would be a good idea. Here in Canada we are metric. "kilometre" markers (especially on the 400 series highways in Ontario) would be very helpful. This way people could accurately report issues on the road / car break downs / accidents etc...and allow emergency services to arrive quicker and not waste time trying to locate those issues.
