If I’m not ‘navigating’ anywhere, but instead, just using Waze to keep abreast of traffic conditions etc. then the ‘search bar’ serves no purpose. Especially since once I’m driving, it’s illegal to touch the screen. It takes up far too much room in landscape-mode.
Plus the ‘recent locations’ covers almost my whole screen. I shouldn’t have to manually minimise this. It should disappear as soon as I move onto the road. Much of the time I use Waze as a traffic alert system, and only use the navigation when I’m going (1) somewhere far away or (2) somewhere I need to navigate to.
