This was available in the early stages of waze, but was not successful at all. In areas where parking was needed, the update was not helpful, and was misleading as it’s hard to cancel an existing report.

Why should this be a report submitted by user? Waze already keeps track of where cars are parked, so why not automatically have the client report to server that a spot just free'd up? Overtime waze could figure out the probability of the spot still being free N-amount of time after the report based on the location and users successfully being able to capture a parking spot.
