Waze on CarPlay is great for turn-by-turn driving, but route selection shouldn’t be forced to the car screen. Many CarPlay setups are not comfortable or safe to operate (small screens, laggy touch, awkward knobs), so the best place to compare and choose routes is the iPhone where it’s faster and clearer. Requiring people to disconnect CarPlay just to pick an alternative route creates unnecessary friction and can encourage unsafe behavior while driving. Please add a pre-navigation route choice UI on the phone (like Apple Maps) even when CarPlay is connected, and then send the selected route to CarPlay.
