Just to clarify Nico's suggestion: the core idea is for WME to surface missing segments directly in the editor, so that map editors are aware of roads that exist in the real world but haven't been drawn yet.

The primary source for detecting these gaps could be GPS traces, if there are user traces passing through an area where no segment exists, that's a strong signal that a road needs to be created. However, the detection doesn't have to stop there: missing segments could also be identified through AI analysis of satellite imagery, or sourced from Google Maps via the KoiFish mechanism, although, as Nico points out, KoiFish apparently failed to trigger any alert in the examples provided.

The goal is to make it easier for editors to find and fill in these gaps, rather than relying solely on users stumbling upon them manually.
