Title: iOS 27 / Apple CarPlay – Alternative routes display has become unsafe and impractical
Since updating to iOS 27, the display of alternative routes in Waze on Apple CarPlay has significantly deteriorated.
Previously, alternative routes were displayed together in a clear, easily readable list. It was possible to compare the different options at a glance.
With the new interface:
* The list is displayed in a much smaller window.
* Only part of the available alternative routes is visible at any one time.
* Users have to scroll manually through the list to see the other options.
* The reduced size of the window makes route comparison unnecessarily difficult.
This is particularly problematic when driving, especially when traffic conditions change and the driver needs to quickly compare alternative routes.
This is not merely a matter of convenience or personal preference. It is a road safety issue. Requiring drivers to scroll through a small window increases the time spent looking away from the road and creates unnecessary distraction.
I use Waze on Apple CarPlay in a Mercedes-Benz GLC 300e. The issue appeared following the iOS 27 update.
My request:
Please restore the previous alternative routes display, with all available routes visible simultaneously in a sufficiently large and readable window, without requiring manual scrolling.
Waze has always been particularly useful because of its ability to provide and compare alternative routes in real time. The new interface significantly undermines this advantage and, more importantly, makes the feature less safe to use while driving.
I hope this feedback will be taken into account by the Waze product team.
