    Hi
I use Waze daily both at home and in all the countries I visit and I introduced my family in South Africa to Waze too.
South Africa, like many countries these days have a high crime rate with hijackings (of cars), hold-ups (holding up drivers at gun point at traffic lights), Smash and grab (smashing car windows and grabbing valuables at traffic lights).
People (especially tourists) use Waze to navigate unfamiliar places and I have often found myself in an usafe area when following Waze navigation. This was brought home to me on Monday this week when I received a call that my daughter had been held up at gunpoint when she had to go to a meeting (in broad daylight). She had used Waze to find the venue and it had taken her through an area that she wasn't aware was a high crime area. Fortunately she was not harmed but is now traumatized and scared to drive.
I would like to make a suggestion to add a crime warning to the Waze app. It could be added like the police/pothole/roadworks/traffic jam button, to warn drivers, unfamiliar with areas that the area is unsafe, and like the traffic jam it could indicate the type of crime.
Many lives are lost to random violent acts and perhaps Waze could be instrumental in helping to keep drivers safe.
