    SOLUTION TO TIME OUT I had the same timeout problem on long trips - tried the comment below suggesting checking Settings........ I turned off the avoid tolls and avoid highways functions/options and it works fine now.
    Even for a 14 hour drive D.C to FL

    Comment below: .......I fixed timeout by remembering that I had set navigation to avoiding tolls which carries one around tolls to destination which means turning a potential 100 mile trip into 500 miles. Therefore, go to navigation setting first and verify.
