    Not sure if the automated car and litigation in US are a cause of this. In US some cities in NJ have sued GPS companies with big pockets (Waze is owned by Google) and other that local traffic has gotten worse as GPS is now routing traffic through local roads. Also looks like as a part of Automation they are removing simple u turn or evening taking a smaller side street to take u turn to make travelling smoother (avoid unexpected accidents etc), this in turns results in stupid routes in some places.

    I US, I see in the name of security and company bottom line, sadly user flexibility and choice are being removed every where (for eg, see windows 10 users have no say when updates occur or which updates they want).

    I truly believe empowering users and giving them options is the way to go and not take away options. Giving options will get a company loyal customers

    Since the shortest is not there, I am forced to use google maps.
