Touristic Routes
In my country, Portugal, as in almost all countries, we have beautiful places to visit, cities to see and, for that, among the various means of transport that we can access, of course, the motor vehicle is one of them... and for that, you need a road to drive...
When we are on vacation for example, we want to go and visit these places and we map routes, marking it in a diary (or something similar) what we want to visit and see...
In WME, some of these routes could be defined by the editors, be pre-defined and available in the app, so that the driver, when choose one of them, Waze traces the pre-defined route and not choosing the best way to get to the final destination... the goal in this case is visiting places, visiting cities, why not know other roads/streets, other ways, that Waze not show to me... I'm on vacation, It's my day off, I want to go that way... just show me how the traffic is on my way...
Waze's function here would be to inform how the traffic is on the chosen route and, if there is traffic restriction / cuts, then inform the driver if want to proceed with the programmed touristic route or want to deviate from it, to return later, after conditioning.
As an example: in Portugal we have a route that goes from the North of Portugal to the South, called "National 2", which is the name of a road called "National 2", which is "made" annually by several motorcyclists, who only travel through this road, which it "enters" through various locations and has several places to visit, eat and sleep... it takes a few days to travel this road...
If we had the touristic route "National 2" predefined in Waze, whoever wants to go through it, Waze will only show that route predefined by the Editor who created it and not the route that Waze thinks is the best, which normally would be going straight to Highways or by other "ways" than just the intended the road named "national 2".
The function of Waze on this touristic route would only be to inform the driver about the traffic and suggest that he deviate when he finds some "traffic restrition" ahead.
I think the USA has something similar, like the so-called "Route 66"...
So, I leave this first idea here, which can be worked on and give rise to a programmed tourist route, not only by the editor... but, who knows, in the future, eventually, the driver himself can map his own route and program it, so that Waze later fulfills its function, to tell the driver how the traffic is...
let's start brainstorming... :)

An option like "Offer Scenic/Epic Roads" (and also maybe "Offer Curvy Biker Roads") would be great for holiday and weekend driving. :D
From UI perspective, I can imagine, such routes could be offered as extra choices.
It however raises a lot of questions, e.g.:
How far should it pull you off the main course? 20km? 50km? 100km?
What if there are more oof such roads? What if they merge and fork? How many users and how often would this feature?
Finally: How does this fit support/relate to the Waze core functionalities? (Here I can imagine, it could attract completely new kind of users.)
Cheers!
