Choosing the Route Type (Economic, Fast, or Safe)
Today, navigation primarily prioritizes the shortest estimated travel time, but the fastest option isn't always the most suitable for the moment.
Each driver has different needs depending on the time of day, context, and purpose of the trip.
Proposal:
Allow the user to choose the route type before starting navigation:
1- Fast Route (default)
Total focus on the shortest estimated time. Maintains the current model.
2- Economy Route
Prioritizes constant flow. Reduces "stop and go". May suggest avoiding tolls. Ideal for long trips or cost reduction.
3- Safe Route
Prioritizes avenues and main roads. Avoids back streets and low-traffic areas. May consider accident history. Reduces sections with dangerous curves or very narrow roads. Ideal for nighttime use or unfamiliar cities.
Benefits
More control for the user. Greater sense of security. Personalized experience.
For reflection:
How many times have we ignored a route because it entered back streets in neighborhoods or low-traffic areas?
Many users already make this choice when driving, perceiving danger.
Perhaps it's time to officially offer this option within the app.
