1. Change formatting of forum sharing options

When an editor uses the new forum sharing options which is great, because of the order of the data on the request, valuable information is being overlooked.

For example, the current Unlock Request automatically fills in the following information:

    Hi Editors,

I would like to be able to edit the following segment(s).
Your help would be greatly appreciated.

    Permalink: https://waze.com/en-US/editor?env=usa&lat=29.63406&lon=-104.27920&zoom=5&segments=516527406
    Reason:
    Unlock to level:

    Thank you in advance,

The "reason" and "unlock to level" kind of blend in.

    My suggestions would be to
    1. automatically fill in the "unlock to level" information with the rank of the editor making the…

Congrats! This suggestion is now availble in the WME.

We've update the Unlock Request forum message to a more general message, and now auto-populate the "Unlock to level" field with the requesting user's level. Object types have also been added.

  2. Show user/app language with UR

In multilingual countries and areas, we never know what language to use when responding to a UR. A driver in Brussels may have their app in French, Dutch, English or German. Our editors are multi-lingual, but can't see which language to use. If we'd see the display language of the app, we'd know directly.

  3. Reorder advanced WME settings

When Compact Mode was added, it was placed at the top of the advanced settings. The top settings should be those most likely to be used often. Compact Mode should go toward the bottom with the other settings less likely to be changed.

Red marks on the image are those items I think won't be changed often. https://imgur.com/wvHg0HY

Personal note - I change from drawing as one segments to two way segments often based on the roads I'm adding.

  4. Sandbox Training Server

Not to be mistaken with the beta program.

The sandbox could be a dedicated space/server where editor levels don't apply (to a degree) and lower-level editors could experiment with the functionality of higher-level access. ie Junction Boxes, Far Lanes, Shields, etc.

Mentors could use it as a training ground.

Managers could use it for promotional tests

It would also be a good space to run simulations to test what you have put into practice. Editors could also test theories without affecting the end users in the live map.

  5. Translate country names to appear correctly when using the app in languages other than English

Currently when viewing a place's address (street name, city, country), the country's name always appear in English no matter what the language setting you have. This should be corrected so that the country name appear on the correct language depending on what language is set for Waze.

  6. Add "Curbside Pickup" or "Curbside Service" to the services in the more info tab for places

In this Covid-19 era many businesses are offering Curbside Pickup service to reduce/avoid direct contact between people. I think this came to stay as I have witnessed adding phone line numbers exclusively for customers to call when they are parked in front of the store so a employee can deliver the order to the customer outside the building.

  7. Allow language change for international travelers

Hi! In our office we are big fans of WAZE and find, at least in Los Angeles, that it's superior to Google Maps and other GPS apps. Our issue? We have many frequent international travelers and in particular, when in Israel the app defaults to Hebrew and can't be changed to English. I think it would be advantageous to all if that could be made more flexible.

  8. Remove layer sharing in permalinks

Currently, when making a permalink, you can share your layer settings by checking the "Include layer settings" checkbox. This will add the "s" parameter to the permalink so that anyone who opens it will see the map with your layer settings.
In my experience this feature is literally never used and is frankly quite annoying. If someone sends you a PL this way, you will lose all your own layer settings and have to re-check all the layers that you had enabled.
In my opinion, removing this feature would be the most effective solution as it is never used.
