    Hey,

Please note we're changing the status of this suggestion to Currently Not Planned since we finalized our plans for 2024 and this idea won't be implemented this year.

We hope to include it in our plans for later down the line.

    Thanks!

Sorry to see this as closed. Just had a discussion (maybe for the 3rd time now?) with a Waze editor on why I marked a road closed. In each case, I'm driving, encounter a temporary closure (construction or accident), and try to tap the closure button in Waze's CarPlay interface hoping I will get routed around the closure. Instead, I end up "Waze-ting" the editors' time because the temporary closure has likely resolved (and I didn't intend to actually report a map problem anyway).

The days of interacting with the phone while driving are nearly gone. People are interacting using Android Auto & CarPlay and an easy way to say "Going the way you are telling me to go isn't an option right now. Get me around it." would be a big improvement (and no doubt stop wasting time for map editors).

+1000. One of the biggest missing features in Waze, IMHO. Having to always manually enable native lock orientation when running Waze and disable it when not using Waze is annoying (pretty much the only time I switch the toggle is for Waze). When a phone lies flat, car motion can easily change the orientation. I like using landscape for pics, videos, etc., but I never want Waze in landscape.

A simple in-app setting to select a preferred orientation (default to use device orientation) would take a few lines of code, would help those of us who don't want Waze to change orientation and are tired of always having to manually toggle native orientation lock for Waze to make up for this missing feature, and would not bother anyone.
