Add closure report to Android Auto
There does not appear to be a way to report a temporary closure of a road due to an accident, etc. from within the Waze Android Auto interface. Please consider adding this feature.

Great thinking! We’ll share with the team; they’re always interested in new feature ideas.

It would appear that it is Android Auto who for some reason will not allow the 'Road Blocked' feature to be used. If this is the case, then as a workaround, give us the option to either make a detour from that point of the planned route or give us the option to choose a particular road that we want to avoid (the blocked road). We don’t have to report it as being blocked. It’s just telling Waze and Android Auto that we don’t want to use that particular road. I can't understand why, after over 6 years since the original post, no one at Waze has been able to come up with a solution to this.

This is crazy! More and more people are using android auto, and it's becoming obvious that people are not reporting road closures any more.
One of the main features of Waze! -

@Ella if you're not going to add this, please explain why.
as a map editor, i find myself making excuses for your lack of this feature at least once a week. i'm sick of answering this question in URs!

I can't believe this still hasn't been remedied. Please add this feature! Not having it on Android Auto just encourages users to use their phone instead.

This functionality is essential otherwise you keep getting routed back to a temporarily closed road leading to confusion and high risk of accidents -

There should be the ability to press a button and report temporary closures on Android auto. If it's not a button at least have a button and then the ability to say what street it is on and then it adds it. For the building by voice to say at a road closure to "Road name."

The voting does not accept new votes. This feature affects safety. To use the road closed feature, we need to disconnect from CarPlay and use our phones. For this we would need to pull over to avoid distracted driving.

It’s crazy and so frustrating that this suggestion was closed, even preventing people from voting for it! 😡
It’s one of the most requested Android Auto features!!Someone had to recreate it to be able to vote, please vote here: https://waze.uservoice.com/forums/59223-waze-suggestion-box/suggestions/46320607-road-closure

Navigation sent me to closed road adding an hour to my drive. Bridge was out after heavy rains, had this feature been implemented could have been reported.

Please add this feature! I along with many other drivers got detoured via the app to a road closure that added over an hour of unnecessary track to a 40 minute drive.

This should have already been added

So, this is still pretty important. Most states don't allow the use of your phone while driving, so most folks are switching to Android Auto and Carplay. Waze should have the same functionality in AA/CP as it does in the apps.

This feature has been missing for 6 years. I doubt it will ever happen at this point.

I agree, this functionality is very important

Critically missing feature. Needing to unplug my phone and report directly from my phone while dealing with traffic issues is incredibly dangerous and should not be necessary

This is definitely a critical issue that we came face to face with during the aftermath of the i-10 fire in LA
