couldn't agree more. waze NEVER learns my route... perhaps because my route takes 'side streets' that don't have as much traffic... or perhaps because they are 1 minute longer than the suggested route which... let's be honest... has a bunch of traffic and get's your there 5 minutes later than planned.
really what i want to know - is there any issue ahead with my chosen route?

not only that, it seems to to like sending you to try and cross a busy road during rush hour... which could take forever in some spots as there's never a lull in traffic.. but if waze hadn't diverted me AWAY from the intersection with a light i would have made easily crossed the road in a couple minutes.
