I don't suppose that I would have a problem with this and it does sound like a neat concept. With phone screens getting larger, the viewing of the extra icon should not be a problem. I like the idea of the icon display with the "option" to check if you would like the icon and/or the warning if going over the speed limit.
As a map editor though, I would hope that Waze would purchase this information from another source and enter it into their program. In my opinion, the ability to add speed limit signs itself would be a nuisance. There are many connections for different roads and map editors should not have to deal with this problem.
Would this effect the routing system that Waze uses as it relies on Wazers personal driving statistics for speed averages and such?

Interesting idea. Sounds like a good feature. +1
I did not know this occurred. If this is the case, +1.
I liked this feature in Trapster. +1 from me.
This would be nice to see as an AM myself. There are some glitches in the editor where the road name appears twice, exactly spelled the same in the alias. This could help keep a clean area. This would also be very efficient! If Waze is concerned with someone destroying info, they could keep automatic backups or require that one has to be a certain level AM to acquire the spreadsheet access.
was not uploaded on 2.2, but still under consideration for the next version.
I like the paused feature that people are discussing regarding this idea

Though it does not affect me, this feature is spoken about time and time again. Some Wazers appear to not be using the program due to this. I think this feature is one that is important to keep Waze competitive and keep a user base from dropping off.
+1 to what "Eduardo Benedicto" and "mpyreal" stated above.
