It would be extremely useful if the audio stated the full type of hazard reported ahead, as well as the distance. A vehicle stopped on the shoulder is less of a hazard than an object on the road or vehicle stopped on the road. Stating a generic "hazard reported ahead" requires the user to look down at his/her phone and promotes unsafe driving.
For on-road hazards, it would be useful to indicate the lane. Waze could present three large buttons (left, center, right) and allow the user to select one to two of them. This would easily cover roads two to five lanes wide in a single direction, so it could report hazards like "vehicle stopped on road in center-right lane in 1.2 mi/km".
