Other than a 2 lane highway most all other highways have 2 shoulders and 3 ,4 or 5 lanes. When reporting hazzard the option of which shoulder ( right or left)could be a better alert than just "shoulder". Also road work or road crew should be added as to what type of hazzard on shoulder. Also with accidents or debris on highway the ability to say left lane, middle lane 2 right lanes etc could warn Wazers ahead of time so they could avoid the reported shoulder or lane hazzard. The other evening traveling Rt 95 there was a ladder in both the left lane and lane next to it. I did not know how to or didnt have the option to report which lanes. I was able to go off on the shoulder to avoid it. Traffic behind me was very heavy and traveling at 70 to 80 mph.
Through my rear view mirror I could see the car in left lane swerved around it but the next lane could not swerve in either direction thus hitting the ladder and then a chain reaction of cars trying to avoid yet hitting other vehicles around them. to recap options of right or left shoulder and right left or middle lanes would be an asset to alert wazers
