I think it might also be a good idea if they get a delayed e-mail asking them to click a link to add additional information to their report.
Also, instead of just clicking the generic solved or undetermined. Have the ability to provide feedback to the user that reported it. Such as, they reported a navigation directions error, and when you look at the map you see that their actual driving directions is way off from the nav directions, it's obvious that they have poor gps reception and that they should move their phone so it has a better view of the sky, or maybe they are just going through an area with a lot of tall buildings so their gps reception is messed up. So you put a comment on their report to inform them of what is going on.
