This has been a problem for years. Many large vehicles and cars with trailers are routinely directed onto the parkways by GPS software, which could certainly be capable of accounting for these restrictions, and it shouldn't be the driver's responsibility to fight with the GPS when it directs you where you aren't allowed to go, the GPS software company is being irresponsible if it doesn't account for this. I recommend writing to the governor of your state and requesting that s/he send a strongly worded message to the GPS companies to fix this problem.
