It has been 12 years since this was originally posted, 5 since you replied, and I still have drivers ahead of me panic spiking their brakes because they get alerted of speed traps 600 feet from the cop. The worst part is that there's an easy solution for me as a driver: constantly looking down to check my map and physically look for the police icons, meaning I'm constantly taking my eyes off the road. I don't know why this has taken over a decade to fix, but it's literally on the front page of your feedback site. Please implement customizable distance for alerts, speed based is fine as an option just give us the ability to set it manually as well. Thank you.
