  1. Speed bumps warnings

I would like to suggest that WME could allow users to edit the map to indicate speed bumps warning to work like radars. This should be useful since in Brazil several speed bumps are not clearly marked or painted. There have been described too many occasions that we have been caught unexpectedly by an unmarked/unpainted speed bump during the night. This can be a life safer by avoiding the potential damage in our cars and, obviously, in our lives.

  2. Increase police warning distance

Waze users are warned of speed traps or police presence only about 600 feet ahead of time. This is far too late of a warning. With a clear line of sight, law enforcement can detect speeders at 1-2 miles out.

By the time the Waze warning pops up, you could have already been detected.

This feature – while very well intentioned and thought out – is useless with so little warning.

  4. track buddy

Ability to be buddies with other wazers, and track them. If they want to have a multiple car roadtrip, they would always be able to find eachother

  5. Night Mode on all User Interface Elements

When you're in Night Mode the map is, essentially, reversed in color; light things are dark, dark things are light. This is not true for any of the other user interface elements. Search, popups, reporting... all are very bright and very distracting. These interfaces should also be reversed, that is, dark grey backgrounds with light gray text.

  6. Temporary Speed Limits for construction

Allow editors to set Temporary Speed limits, similar to a closing, that will time out to the default, road set limit, after the time period has lapsed. It would be able to be set for the same time period as the closure, if desired, or during events, if necessary.

  7. Average speed camera zone

When in an average speed camera enforced zone it would cool if the green progress bar turned red when my average speed exceeds the limit

  8. TV-out mirroring

Enable TV-out mirroring so you can display waze on your build in navigation unit.
For iPhone a simple open source library can be included : http://www.touchcentric.com/blog/archives/123

  9. Time dependent Speed Limits

We really need the ability to add time dependent Speed Limits for school zones or other times of the day where the maximum speed limit changes, this would not only help with navigation slow downs (which most school zones wouldn't affect too much anyway) but would also increase safety for drivers and pedestrians in the area.

If we were able to set speed limits during specific times of the day it would mean a popup warning for a changed speed would mean users would be aware and slow down and hopefully prevent accidents from occurring in this speed sensitive zones.

  10. Put School Zone Speed Limit

When you edit the speed limit, you can put certain speed limits for certain times and days.

  11. variable speed limit

In the Netherlands we have highways where during the day, you're only allowed 120 KPH, which is between 6:00 AM and 7:00 PM, outside those times the speed limit is set to the max limit (in this case 130 KPH).

Another example is in Germany (highway)roads sometimes during the day there is "no speed limit" and during the night there is (so reversed).

Adding this will help people know what the maximum speed is according to the time of day. Note this is not based on road-works, or temporary speed limits, but permament rules for the speed limits.

  12. Time-based speed limits

The editing interface should permit the addition of time-based variable speed limits to the map.

  13. Localized Highway Shields (State & County Routes, etc)

In the U.S., each state has its own highway route number shield. Some states, like West Virginia, also have county route shields that differ from the state route shields. In Pennsylvania, a route like Route 28 would show the Keystone with a 28 on top of it.

A lot of effort is taken in WME to ensure the road names and turn-by-turn instructions match signage. Drivers would benefit by having the same highway shields in their Waze app as they will see on the highway signage as they drive.

Apple has already included this in Apple Maps. It should be…

  14. Request to retrieve search results of road names from Waze's database and from Google Map's database.

Waze community is better than Google Map....
In other words, Waze's database is more accurate then Google Map...

    Thanks for your suggestion.
As you may know, we recently added Waze Addresses to the auto-complete search.
We are currently working on sorting auto-complete search results and hope to be able to share some exciting news about it soon.

  15. Optimise speed limits/ implement time based speed limits

I had a couple of fines before I found out that Waze isn't as correct as I thought it was.
On motorways in the Netherlands, you are allowed to drive 100 KPH in the day, 130 KPH after 19:00. Waze only tells you the speed limit for 130 KPH so maybe this can be a good feature to add.
Or at least make the speed limit 100, so it won't make you think you can drive faster while you actually can't.

  16. Add shields to on and off ramps

    When a road type ramp has a route number on it, a shield should be generated for the navigation instruction. For example, a on-ramp named "to US-27" should produce "to <US-27 shield>". Similarly: "Exit 29: US-19 / US-23 / SR-43" should produce "Exit 29: <US-19 shield> <US-23 shield> <SR-43 shield>.

  17. Search Suggestions

When performing search for any point of interest, Waze returns suggestions as you type. Those suggestions are presented in weirdest order. It doesn't show distance and sometimes can suggest location that is completely different state while in reality there is one close by.
