What we are aiming to do here is speed based alerters.
Waze doesn't emit sound alerts and incidents if the screen is off. Usually, motorcyclists use the phone in their pockets to receive alerts/directions through a communicator installed in their helmets and connected via Bluetooth. It helps avoid distractions and, overall, improves the rider safety.
Unfortunately, Waze only emits directions if the screen is off. It forces us to keep the phone with the screen on, unnecessarily consuming tons of battery. In practice, people are using another app to get sound alerts. It would be great if Waze added this simple but essential feature.
