    Hello,

As a frequent Waze user, I have noticed that the current alert distance for events (accidents, speed cameras, hazards on the road) is too short.

In many situations, the alert comes too late for the driver to anticipate properly, especially at higher speeds (highways, expressways) or in poor weather conditions.

    Proposal:

Add a setting that allows users to choose their preferred alert distance (e.g., 500 m / 1 km / 2 km) depending on driving speed and personal preference.

Optionally, automatically adjust the alert distance based on the vehicle’s actual speed (longer distances for higher speeds).

Include a personalizable “distance index” (e.g., +10% or -10%) so each driver can fine-tune Waze alerts to match their driving style and comfort level. For example, I personally prefer to be warned as early as possible, ideally with the remaining distance displayed and even a reminder halfway to the event. Others may prefer a shorter alert interval closer to the hazard.

    Expected Benefits:

Better anticipation of slowdowns, speed cameras, and hazardous zones.

Improved road safety thanks to earlier driver reactions.

A more personalized user experience for different types of trips (urban, suburban, highway).

Thank you for considering this improvement, which I believe would benefit a large part of the Waze community.
