Absolutely...red on black is impossible to read, and as a former user experience designer/manager, I'm pretty sure it's not even ADA compliant due to inadequate contrast.
Related, the speedometer is of more use (I'm often on side roads where the speed limit isn't certain), and even this is incredibly small and difficult to read. Please make it larger.
