    Please note we're changing the status of this suggestion to Currently Not Planned, since we finalized our plans for 2024 and this idea won't be implemented this year.

    We hope to include it in our plans for later down the line.

    Parking providers can use their parking management systems to issue reserved parking permission to Waze carpoolers using a geofence. Waze can send information verifying the location and the multiple users are participating in a carpool allowing the parking management system to issue a permit for reserved or preferred parking for carpoolers. This removes the burden for the parking provider to determine if the carpool spaces are actually being used by carpoolers or a single occupant.
